AX means designing systems so that agents can take over much of what people used to do, and building the human-agent interface. It is not buying tools. It is not training people. It is redesigning the structure that work flows through. Defining it this way sets the scope of an AX organization's job: which work moves to agents, where humans and agents meet, and how that interface is designed.
