There's an engineer on my team making over two million a year. He still grinds every day. When I asked why, he said, *"because it's the only way I know how to live."* Not for the paycheck — for the next, better engineer he could be. The senior leaders here mostly run the same way. Comp isn't the variable; the variable is whether you can prove your worth to yourself. I started here just trying to make rent.
