The billion-won engineer picks the right direction and pushes it all the way through. Ten traits I've seen common to engineers in Silicon Valley clearing the billion-won threshold. **One**: they solve revenue-shaped problems — they earn the company hundreds of billions directly. **Two**: they're always on the project that matters — they've already done the branding work. **Three**: they outlast — the person who's still there wins by default. **Four**: they negotiate — they don't sell themselves cheap. **Five**: they don't burn emotional fuel on politics — they spend it on results. **Six**: their mental game is sturdy — they pick the right move even mid-crisis. **Seven**: they cut hard — inefficient work doesn't get their time. **Eight**: their network is good — talent matters, but opportunity is delivered through people. **Nine**: they understand the business — they can model 70% of how the company actually makes money. **Ten**: they don't ride a single specialty — meaning they can land any project. The billion-won engineer is whoever **picks the right direction and pushes it all the way through.** The kind that gets everything done.
