The high-performer moves fast on three disciplines: map the options, prove results, say no. I work on a team in Silicon Valley that earns the company hundreds of billions. From that vantage point the high-performers are obvious. Three traits show up in all of them. **One**: they don't ask "what do we do now?" — they walk in with the option set already mapped and say "here's the move." **Two**: they speak in results. Not "I worked weekends, I shipped five projects" — but "ad CTR is up 2× this year." **Impact beats process.** **Three**: they know how to say no. They're decisive about time-wasters. They can say *"this has poor ROI, I'm not doing it"* without flinching. The pattern: **action faster than talk, and proof in results.**
